Infosecurety Europe is one of the most important Cyber Security events worldwide, that every year brings business and tech together.
Inventa International was represented by João Batalha, at this event, where he had the chance to talk about some IT platforms the company is developing to keep up with business and client’s requirements.
This year the event took place in London, where thousands of top leading professionals gathered to debate the latest security challenges and developments to keep business and personal information secure.

The real impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the various fields of Law is still largely unknown. However, as stated in the European Parliament resolution of 16 February 2017 with recommendations to the Commission on Civil Law Rules on Robotics (2015/2103(INL)) (v. 015/2103(INL)), no one doubts that this industrial revolution “is likely to leave no stratum of society untouched”, which is why is “vitally important for the legislature to consider its legal and ethical implications and effects, without stifling innovation” (vid. p. 3, B).
London IP Week
Inventa International participated on London IP 2018, that took place from 10 to 12 December.
During this event more than 400 professionals got together with more than 60 speakers, for thought-provoking discussions looking at the most contemporary trends in the world of IP. Highly participated and interactive, this initiative allowed the participants to get up to speed with the latest business issues, in order to ensure the best IP practices and strategies.

2018 AIPLA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC
This year’s AIPLA Annual meeting was held in Washington. Numerous Intellectual Property - IP professionals from across the globe got together, to overview major issues concerning this business.
A wide range of topics, related with Trademarks, Copyright, Patent Licensing and Patent Litigation were on the agenda that also approached the concerns with Artificial Intelligence and Copyright.

WIPO, OAPI and ARIPO reach an agreement for IP in Africa
Three most important intergovernmental organizations regarding IP, in Africa and worldwide, World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO, Organisation Africaine de la Propriété Intellectuelle - OAPI and African Regional Intellectual Property Organization – ARIPO have just signed an agreement to promote harmonization and a better coordination regarding IP protection throughout the African Continent.
Angola – Key facts on the maintenance of IP assets
Ended the initial phase of the registration process of the industrial property assets, that is to say, the filing of the applications in I.A.P.I. (Angolan Institute of Industrial Property) and subsequent phases (bulletin publication, opposition period, formal and substantial examination, granting fees payment and granting of the rights), holders shall be aware of the necessity to proceed with the payment of the maintenance fees of their rights.
