We are proud to share that Inventa received a Special Distinction in the “Best IP Advisor” category for Portugal at the Leaders League Alliance Summit 2025, held on June 11th in Miami, USA.

The Alliance Summit, organized by Leaders League, brought together top legal and business professionals from over 40 countries. The Summit’s Award Ceremony celebrated legal excellence, recognizing the most distinguished legal departments, firms, and IP advisors from around the world.

The 43rd Annual Conference of the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA), themed "Bears on the Loose," will take place in Berlin, Germany, from June 18 to 21, 2025.

IP experts will engage in thought-provoking discussions on the key topics shaping the future of IP. The event will feature a variety of sessions addressing current issues, including the impact of artificial intelligence, IP rights, and brand protection strategies, among others.

The Harare Protocol, one of ARIPO’s cornerstone agreements, allows applicants to secure protection for patents, utility models, and industrial designs through a single ARIPO application, with the same effect as if filed directly in each designated member state. This regional mechanism has long been a valuable tool for rights holders seeking efficient, centralized IP protection across participating African jurisdictions. In this context, we would like to highlight the recent expansion of the system.

In recent years, the protection of intellectual property (IP) rights has become a significant concern across the African continent, as more businesses, companies, and entrepreneurs are looking for new opportunities to expand their businesses into the continent.

An important tool that can help protect these assets in Africa is the use of cautionary notices.

With the rise of eco-conscious branding, companies are competing for a green edge. However, not all claims are as sustainable as they seem, leading to unfair competition that threatens IP rights and brand integrity.

At the upcoming 2024 Leadership Meeting, taking place from November 12 to 15 in New Orleans, USA, Daniel Reis Nobre will moderate a session titled “Green Gambits: Unfair Competition in the Eco-Friendly Era”.

Diogo Antunes analyzes the importance of IP, from registering trademarks to protecting innovations through patents or trade secrets, highlighting practical strategies for SMEs to balance initial costs with future competitiveness in the market.

On September 13 and 14, 2024 the 13th edition of the China Intellectual Property Annual Conference (CIPAC) took place in Beijing, China.

The event brought together industry professionals to discuss a range of intellectual property related topics, such as IP protection, trademark strategies in the digital era, laws and regulations, IP information services, amongst others initiatives. 

Inventa was represented by Crystal Zhang at CIPAC to talk to and advise entrepreneurs, investors, and other attendees on the best IP strategies in China.

Inventa will attend the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys’ (FICPI) 22nd Open Forum, from the 25th to 28th of September in Madrid. 

Throughout the event, several sessions will cover various aspects of IP law, including practice management, patents, trademarks and designs, and the latest legal updates, offering an excellent opportunity to build and strengthen connections.
