FACIM 2024 | Maputo International Trade Fair

The 59th edition of FACIM - Maputo International Trade Fair - took place in Mozambique from August 26 to September 1.

FACIM is the largest trade fair for national products and companies, and it also helps international and local entrepreneurs to promote and start new partnerships.

During the 2024 edition of FACIM, the Inventa Moçambique team had the opportunity to talk to and advise entrepreneurs, investors, and other attendees on the best IP strategies in Mozambique.

Protect Your Intellectual Property Before Infringement Strikes

Cocoa paradise proves fertile ground for geographical indications

50 years of Intellectual Property in Africa

In relation to the 50th anniversary of Inventa International, we have been given the challenge to analyze certain intellectual property data over the past 50 years on the African continent.

 

As it is impossible to cover a panoramic view of the various events, we chose just a few topics we found interesting for this minor-scale study. At the outset, it seems important for us to outline a short introduction about the African continent and the protection of industrial property in the countries of which it is made up.

WIPO, OAPI and ARIPO reach an agreement for IP in Africa

Three most important intergovernmental organizations regarding IP, in Africa and worldwide, World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO, Organisation Africaine de la Propriété Intellectuelle - OAPI and African Regional Intellectual Property Organization – ARIPO have just signed an agreement to promote harmonization and a better coordination regarding IP protection throughout the African Continent.
